This policy explains what Viya collects, how we use it, and the choices you have when using the Viya website and browser extension.

Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the Viya website, the Viya browser extension, and related product features that help you analyze your resume against job descriptions.

When we say "Viya," "we," or "our," we mean the Viya product and service. If you do not agree with this policy, you should stop using the service.

Information We Collect

We collect the information needed to create your account, run resume and job analyses, remember your settings, and keep the service working.

  • Account data, such as your name, surname, email address, and preferred language.
  • Career data, such as the CV you upload during processing, the derived profile created from that CV including extracted work history, education, skills, keywords, summaries, and working languages with levels, job descriptions and job listing URLs submitted for analysis, and generated analysis history.
  • Extension and runtime data, such as a generated device ID, extension version, operating system, browser and platform metadata, and local settings like language or theme preferences.
  • Temporary local values used for the product flow, such as a pending verification email stored in local storage during sign-up or verification.

How We Use Information

We use your information to provide the product you asked for and to keep the service secure and reliable.

  • Create and manage your account, authenticate sign-in, and maintain quota or plan limits.
  • Parse your CV, build the profile used for job analyses, and generate match scores, summaries, and recommendations.
  • Show your prior analysis history and keep your product preferences in sync.
  • Operate, troubleshoot, secure, and improve the service, including support, fraud prevention, and abuse detection.

Browser Extension Access

The current extension requests host access for LinkedIn pages only.

When you start a job analysis, the extension reads the job title, company name, description, and URL from the active LinkedIn listing page so Viya can analyze that role against your profile. We do not state that we monitor your full browsing history.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use

Data collected through the Viya browser extension is used only to provide or improve Viya's user-facing resume and job analysis functionality.

We do not sell extension-collected data, and we do not use it for personalized advertising, interest-based advertising, or unrelated purposes.

We only transfer extension-collected data when necessary to operate the service, comply with applicable law, or detect, prevent, or address fraud, abuse, security, or technical issues.

Human access to extension-collected data is limited to cases such as user-requested support, legal compliance, or security and abuse investigations.

Sharing and Processors

We do not sell your personal data.

We do not use advertising or marketing trackers in the product today based on the code currently shipping.

  • We may share data with service providers that help us run Viya, such as infrastructure, authentication, storage, and AI processing providers.
  • We may disclose information if required by law, to protect the service, or as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or similar business transaction.

Cookies and Local Storage

Viya uses essential and functional storage only. This includes authentication state, language preferences, theme preferences, extension storage, and other local values required to keep the product working as expected.

This policy does not describe analytics or marketing cookies because we do not see those tools configured in the current product code.

Retention and Deletion

We keep information for as long as it is reasonably needed to provide the service, maintain your account, preserve your derived profile and analysis history, meet legal obligations, and resolve disputes or security issues.

We do not promise long-term retention of the original uploaded CV file. Our current product description is limited to retaining the derived profile data and analysis history needed to operate Viya.

We do not extract phone numbers from uploaded CVs. If you choose to enter a phone number in your editable career profile, we retain it until you remove it or delete your account.

CV documents are generated on demand from your saved profile and streamed to your device. Viya does not retain the generated DOCX or PDF file.

When data is no longer needed, or when you ask us to delete your account, we will delete or anonymize information unless we need to keep it for legal, security, backup, or operational reasons.

You can request deletion from Account and data settings. Normal use stops immediately. Where legally approved, deletion is scheduled after a displayed cancellation period; otherwise it is processed immediately. Active records and the authentication account are deleted automatically, service providers are instructed to delete applicable data, and immutable backups expire on their documented schedule. We retain only restricted disposal records or information required by law, security, or legal claims.

Your Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, export, or restriction of certain personal information.

Children

Viya is not intended for children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date on this page.

Material changes will be reflected in the website version of this policy.
